When feedback does not improve the result

A reading guide to the monitored-feedback experiment in quantum synchronisation, including its matched control and bounded conclusion.

The question

Can the tested monitored-feedback policy reduce the target error compared with the matched open-loop control?

The reported result

The reported feedback arm did not reduce the preregistered binary-proxy target error. Later direct-XY measurements found structured differences, but these were not stable enough to promote the tested controller.

How to read the experiment

  1. Prepare matched feedback and control arms
  2. Measure the preregistered endpoint
  3. Inspect direct-XY extensions and limits

What the result does not establish

The result concerns the tested hardware-control protocol and measurement context. It is not a general rejection of feedback, a claim of quantum advantage, or a result that applies to every backend.
